On Friday 13 March 2020, a group of school children from Georgenau School joined us at Fountainhill Estate for a 2 hour conservation awareness walk with Nicholas, our trained FGASA guide. The children arrived excited and ready to learn, equipped with notebooks, pens and a water bottle.
The children learnt about different types of trees, the different spoors of the various animals on Fountainhill Estate and how we need to protect and conserve the nature around us. Many of the animals were observed including nyala, impala, zebra and blue wildebeest. The giraffe however were a bit elusive and could only be seen from a distance.
uMshwathi Municipality provided lunch for the children which was enjoyed in the shade of the veranda at the conference centre.
