Day 1 on Fountainhill Estate
Our very exciting bush camp took place this weekend with an awesome group of children who love being out in nature. We did around 12km of hiking with the intention of reaching the most beautiful waterfall on Fountainhill Estate. We had so much fun along the way and the children had a great time participating in our biodiversity treasure hunt. We would also like to thank BirdLife KZN Midlands for their donations of birding books and binoculars which were put to good use. The kids and the 2 guides Debbie and Rod enjoyed an overnight stay at The Rangers Hut, the rustic bush camp on the estate.
Day 2 on Fountainhill Estate
After a long hike on Saturday to the waterfall and some time scorpion hunting in the evening, we did a smaller 4km walk on Sunday morning after breakfast. As always on our camps the children were eagerly anticipating what the morning was going to bring.
We spent some time playing a few games along the walk and of course we always do some solitude time when the children are given the opportunity to reflect on their surroundings and ponder on what they are grateful for in life .
The next Free Me Free You Outreach Bush Camp at Fountainhill Estate takes place on 8 July 2023
