This can be classified as comfortable or “luxury” accommodation with all rooms being en suite and well appointed. It comprises the Blue Crane Suite, the Guineafowl Suite, the Hornbill Suite, the Sunbird Suite, and the Cottage.
The Lodge is located near the main entrance to the property and equipped with a fully equipped kitchen, dining facilities, a comfortable lounge, a conference room and games room. It is also conveniently located near the historic Georgenau Chapel.
The lodge and its amenities are convenient for small conferences, meetings and functions. The accommodation is aimed primarily at nature groups and visiting researchers requiring more comfortable accommodation than that offered by our other facilities.
Our Dormitory is located in the old dairy staff accommodation unit. It is not a typical open plan dormitory but comprises 5 units with 8 individual bedrooms. Each unit has a kitchenette, living area and bathroom. The rooms are simply furnished with each bedroom being fitted with two double bunk beds.
The Dormitory lends itself to student groups or nature groups looking for a more affordable option. Guests are required to provide bedding and their own towels.
A building previously erected for Conservation Rangers conducting research has been rustically refurbished to accommodate 14 guests in the bush. While simple shower and toilet facilities are provided there is no electricity.
The Rangers Hut is meant as a “get-away-from-it-all” place, tucked into beautiful natural bushveld. It is located within the conservation area and is therefore perfect for the more hardened nature trail groups we attract.
“Watch this space”
The original homestead of Ernst & June Taeuber, Kronsberg, is to be converted into a centre to be used by conservation organisations and bodies engaged in conservation efforts, as conference and meeting rooms providing temporary well-equipped offices and limited accommodation for visiting researchers.
